EUROPEUM-EDIC was created through a European Commission decision in May 2024. This new legal entity is currently in process of taking over the governance of EBSI, including the responsibilities and tasks previously overseen by the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP). The objective of the EUROPEUM-EDIC is to expand and deploy the EBSI network and its use cases at production stage, with a focus on enhancing public services for EU citizens and organisations.
